Wedding of Debbie and Kevin

Kevin was a widower. Debbie had never been married. You would have thought their paths would never have crossed. He lived in Maine. She lived in Maryland. How did the two meet? Through eharmony.com. Yes, those online services do work. It just so happened that Kevin’s work as a consultant required him to come to Maryland about twice a month for a week at a time. Therefore, they were able to meet and begin a friendship which ultimately resulted in their falling in love and getting married.

They didn’t want a long engagement and they wanted to get married at Debbie’s church. However, the only day that was available that worked for all those involved was on Father’s Day, June 17 of this year.

The color scheme was periwinkle and ivory. I draped tulle down the aisle and attached a hydrangea on every other row. The arbor was decorated with tulle with a garland of flowers on the front. A friend had grown and potted flowers for the two urns that sat at the front of both sides of the arbor.

The reception took place at the Inn at Brookeville Farms. I rented chair covers and periwinkle sashes which really dressed up the reception tables. The centerpieces were lanterns purchased by the groom in Maine. Debbie and Kevin pre-chose a special person or couple at each table to take the lantern home. Debbie surprised Kevin with a groom’s cake with the Harley Davidson logo as Kevin really loves Harley’s.

Since the reception ended in the evening, I lined the pathway with luminaries to light the way to their new life together as husband and wife. A perfect ending to a perfect day.
